While playing catch up on my magazine subscriptions, I came across information I wish I had at Max's last weekend. "The World's Best Beers" article in Men's Journal lists the top five beers in 6 categories/styles. This doesn't mean that you have to go out and try all 30 beers in one night... but if you decide to make a go at it, give me a shout and I'll belly up next to you at the bar. In any event, rankings were determined by surveying beer industry gurus (I don't remember seeing that as an option to major in college). I've already copied this list and keep it in my back pocket - you never know when you're going to make a B-double E-double R-U-N, beerun.

It's great to see some Pennsylvania breweries on the list - Victory near Harrisburg and Stoudt's near Philly. I wonder where the authors reside...
Having spent significant hours researching this topic at Zeno's (directly above the center of the earth), I can't say I agree with all of these choices. But that's the great thing about beer. You could drink 6 different kinds every day and never run out of new tasty treats to try the next day!
Let me rephrase that: that's ONE of the great things about beer.
I would continue, but I gotta go grab a beer ( I believe it'll be a Black Radish from the Weeping Radish Farm and Brewery in Manteo, NC).
What about Young's Double Chocolate Stout? What about Sammy Smith's Taddy Porter? What about Belhaven from Scotland? And don't tell Rug they left off the Lindeman's Lambics! It's an outrage! No Magic Hat!
